What a year it’s already been for AUDIOWELLS. James Westby’s “Rid of Me” wrapped in Feb only to premier at Tribeca in NYC and go on to win “Best US Fiction Film” at Michael Moore’s TCFF, all original music and sound for the brilliant and haunting Mischa Webley feature “The Kill Hole” starring Billy Zane was completed in late July, and now I set sail scoring and sound-painting the remarkable documentary “Reconvergence” by Edward Tyndell and Mobius Films.  I’ll sleep when I’m old…

Yes, it did!!! WOW!!!!  Way to go James and Katie and the entire cast and crew! This was a huge labor of love for all of us and it looks like the rewards are abundant with a NYC , LA, and Portland release on the horizon.  I personally spent a year and a half in the trenches with James developing and recording the music, then completing every iota of the post-production sound.  WHEW!  Our baby’s all grown up….

After 1 1/2 years in post production completing the entire soundtrack, sound design, and mix, James Westby’s “Rid of Me” delighted New York audiences and critics alike for its world premier at the Tribeca Film Festival.  Variety’s John Anderson noted the film was “all held together by a terrific soundtrack.” It was an amazing two weeks in NYC for the cast and crew.  Congratulations everyone on a truly wonderful film.  Now, it’s back to finishing the score for “The Kill Hole.”

After one full year spent composing the Original Music and completing all Mixing and Sound Design, James Westby’s “Rid of Me” begins its festival run.  There will be an exciting announcement made in the weeks ahead.  Now, AUDIOWELLS begins all Sound Design (and possible scoring!) for Mischa Webley’s amazing new feature “The Kill Hole” starring Billy Zane.  If Terrence Malick directed an action film, it would come out like this… What a fun ride this will be!!!!

Europe was stimulating to say the least.. “Rid of Me” on track to completion as well as other new film projects coming in over the horizon.    Let’s do this!

After completing the entire musical score over six months ago, we finally had our test screenings of Westby’s new feature “Rid of Me,” locked the edit, and have begun all of the final sound design and mixing here at AUDIOWELLS.  This amazing thriller/comedy/drama is one gorgeous, hallucinatory sound-canvas! So much fun lies ahead over the next few months….

6 months in post-production, and the brilliant director/writer David Weingarten and myself have completed his feature length follow-up to “Addison’s Wall”   A delicious canvas of a film, “This is Now” marks a major departure for Mr. Weingarten in terms of approaching fiction.   His lead actor simply wandered through the world trying to find the true essence of existence, and along the way every image and every encounter were completely unscripted and spontaneous.  This is true cinema verite at it’s best.  It was a pleasure to paint the world of sound and record the music for this picture.   I look forward to the premier!!!!
