      • from – Don Cambell, The Oregonian. Sept. 30, 2005: “Recorded at Portland’s AUDIOWELLS with Jason Wells at the controls, “Mell of a Hess” jumps and swings in new directions. It’s easy to lose the subtleties of acoustic music, of string against wood, in a recording studio. But this recording is vibrant to the ear, fertile in imagination, a stellar piece of work in a city where string music has taken root and sprouted in wildly organic ways.”
